Faculty Orientation in August is a welter of stressful meetings, serious discussions, and busy prepping of classrooms. We wanted to make sure to infuse the first week with wonder, awe, and amazement. Josh brought that in full force! Prior to his presentation we had more than a few skeptics (“Why are we scheduling a magician when I have so much work to do in my classroom?!”), but afterwards we received more positive, affirming feedback than any other speaker/presenter we’ve had. His magic is through-the-roof amazing AND he couples it to a powerful set of stories and messages that made for a total presentation that had huge impact. We’re grateful to have had this chance to experience Josh! He brought exactly what we needed to get off to a strong, positive, wonder-filled start.
Josh Lozoff’s ability to entertain while teaching essential life skills is amazing! He spoke to our freshmen Focus cluster called Knowledge in the Service of Society at Duke University. We craft the speaker list carefully, and we have invited Josh to speak at the beginning of the semester for the past few years because his message is so important for our students. Josh’s presentation is on the Importance of Communication, but really what he is showing them is how to make a connection with another person. He infuses his message with so much FUN magic and so many engaging stories that his evening with us is a high point. However, Josh’s message is essential for our students. They spend the semester working in Durham’s public schools, and being able to connect with the people they meet is central to their ability to do the work we are asking of them. For this reason, we love having him help our students get off to a good start in college!
Toward the end of the semester, we asked our students to list two positive experiences during our ENITRE SESSION. When I tallied the list, Josh was at the TOP! He received the most votes of any of our speakers! I would highly recommend him to any educational group that wants students to learn about communication.
Joshua was our keynote speaker for our 2 big Back-to-School events for our Child Nutrition employees this summer. We were looking for someone who could inspire as well as entertain, and Joshua did not disappoint! Yes, he was funny, Yes everyone loved the magic. But most important, his message of simple and caring communication skills was something everyone could relate to and apply to their work with our kids. I spoke with several attendees a few weeks after the meeting, and they mentioned they were applying Joshua’s “3 Skills” to their daily interactions. It’s not often that a speaker’s message stays with people long after the event. I really think Joshua’s message did.
5 stars! Joshua was the closing keynote speaker and our annual convention for over 500 school nutrition workers and school nursing staff. He kicked off the event with humor, AMAZING magic and some great content on communication. I’m sure all of the attendees got some joy and inspiration from his talk. I know many people commented on it afterward. Thanks, Joshua!
